How do clear Aligners work?
We use a series of clear aligners to move one or more teeth in small precise increments by applying gentle pressure on these ‘target’ teeth. Clear Aligners can be used to correct a variety of different problems with the upper and lower teeth, such as crowding, excess spaces, crooked and tipped teeth.
How long do I need each aligner for?
You will need to wear each aligner for two to three weeks. They have to be worn full time, but have the advantage of being removable, to aid brushing and eating.
How many aligners will I need?
The number of aligners you will receive will depend on your individual circumstances. With clear Aligners, your treatment plan is unique to you.

This type of treatment consists of a series of tooth specific metal brackets which are placed on the front surface of each tooth and when combined with a specific sequence of metal-elastic wires, can transform even the most complex tooth alignment irregularities.
Why do we still use fixed metal braces?
In spite of recent innovations in orthodontics these traditional braces are still widely used due to their versatility. Each bracket is specially designed to move not only the tooth crown but also the tooth root into the correct position. In some cases, the root position has to be correct before the tooth can be aligned.
Why do you have to fixed the bracket to the tooth?
The use of brackets enables the clinician to precisely reposition the teeth in ways that aren’t always possible with some of the more modern quick fix systems. This type of brace allows a comprehensive treatment to be undertaken, giving text book results for our patients smiles.
With specially designed orthodontic glue, the brackets are easily fitted and can be easily removed from the tooth surface.
At the end of treatment the bracket is quickly and painless removed, then the tooth surface is polished to restore its original lustre and smoothness.
How long does treatment take?
This all depends on the complexity of treatment. For simple cases it can be finished in 6 months but for more difficult cases it can take 24 months.
How often do I need to visit the practice throughout treatment?
We like to see you every 4-8 weeks for brace adjustments and wire changes.
With many patients wanting the results that can be achieved with fixed braces but not wanting the ‘metal look’ – the tooth coloured ‘ceramic’ bracket was developed. This system has all the intricacies of the metal bracket design but in a much more aesthetic material.
When a white wire is connected to the tooth coloured bracket, it has the ability of straightening complex dental problems in an aesthetically sympathetic manner.
We are focused on providing our patients with the highest level of dental care.
